Silly Vampires

I was quite looking forward to the new series 'The Vampire Diares' on TV last night. As you may know I'm a huge fan of Twilight, and I've always had a bit of a thing for vampires. They're quite sexual; only out at night, biting on your neck, usually portrayed as beautiful and persuasive.

The new show looked pretty good on the adverts; full of gorgeous young Americans, enough scary bits to raise your heart rate. But as soon as we had the initial interaction between the schoolgirl and the vampire, it fell right out of favour. They have exactly copied the characters from Twilight! The vampire chap so desperately wanted to be Edward Cullen; his smouldering brooding, his intonation and pauses between words as they awkwardly eyed each other up... it was exactly the same!

I know everyone's jumping on the vampire bandwagon at the moment, but that was just silly. Have a little originality! To be fair, I don't know which books came first because I've never read the Vampire Diaries. But there's only enough space in this world for one Edward Cullen!

  2. Did you see the Dracula film starring Gary Oldman, Brooke? What Dracula's wives did to young Jonathan Harker when he visited the castle in Transylvania was pretty impressive. You might offer the fantasy yourself if you teamed up with couple of girls.

  4. Classic TV mistake. See something that works, then simply try to copy it. It's too bad.
